ChemTox Laboratory

Established in 2003, ChemTox is a laboratory specialising in toxicology analyses.  As an undisputed leader in strategy and analytical innovation, ChemTox has developed strong competences and know-how in the research and quantification of different drugs, toxins and poisons.

Forensic toxicology is the principal area of the laboratory's activity, specialising in the analysis of hair specimens.

The scope of drugs and toxins as well as ChemTox's knowledge regarding the preparation of samples has allowed us to develop new competences and to propose our services in as variety of areas including the cosmetic industry, pharmaceuticals, food processing and the environment.

The laboratory is furnished with analytical equipment which can quantify drugs with high sensitivity and uses specific chromatographic systems coupled with single or tandem mass spectrometry.

The laboratory strives to provide constant improvements of the quality of the services we produce. Recently, COFRAC accredited the laboratory in 'flexible scope' No 8-2017, in addition to the initial accreditation based on the European standard ISO 17025.

The team, composed of lab technicians to experienced scientific analysts in the area of analytical chemistry, is completed by two recognised experts including a native speaking UK toxicology expert. The experts are members of several international societies which allows ChemTox to present our data in scientific publications, oral communications and participate in the sharing of expertise with other experts.  The laboratory has to it's name more than one hundred publications.

Laboratory ChemTox is situated in Illkirch, near Strasbourg, France, in the heart of the Parc D'Innovation and is housed in a modern building  close to 1000m2.
