KNOW-HOW & INNOVATION
A laboratory specializing in hair analysis
ChemTox is an analytical toxicology laboratory whose skills lie in the implementation of technical and human resources for the identification and measurement of toxic substances. There are several hundred thousand chemical molecules likely to affect human health and their evaluation in the various fields covered by our activity aims to assess their danger to humans.

The substances sought and measured are as follows:
ALCOHOL
TOBACCO
narcotics
drugs
sedatives
doping products
sexual stimulants

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Hair sampling procedures for analysis
Hair is a real safeguard of the molecules with which we are and have been in contact. Indeed, during its growth, it will accumulate within its protein structure a huge amount of data corresponding to our diet, our living environment, our activities. Thus a centimeter of hair will represent approximately one month of the donor's living conditions.
Hair sampling is simple and non-invasive, its particularly easy conservation (in an envelope at room temperature) and its exceptional stability (non-biodegradable biological matrix) make hair an ideal matrix for research into exposure to toxic substances.

Contamination of waste water by medicines used in healthcare centres and the fraudulent use of anabolic steroids or medicines by breeders can lead to the presence of active substances dangerous to human health in foodstuffs. Furthermore, several cases of doping of high-level athletes have given rise to suspicions of contamination of foodstuffs intended for athletes (food supplements and dietetic products) by prohibited products.
